Leadership SuperPowers™ in Action: The Secret to Visionary SuperPowers™

Most people (especially women) don’t see themselves as Visionaries.

In fact, a Harvard Business Review article cited an executive study where they found that female leaders received higher ratings than male leaders in most dimensions of leadership except in one dimension – envisioning.

Based on 360-degree evaluations of 2,816 executives from 149 countries enrolled in executive education courses, the study attributed this loss of recognition to the fact that most often women don’t see themselves or other women as visionaries.

Collaborate Super Leadership TeamsThe study suggests that the reason for this is that if the originator of an idea uses a collaborative approach to execute the idea, versus a more directive one, the originator of the idea is often not credited for having vision.

Most organizations financially reward their leaders for being directive (more masculine leadership quality).

Then these same organizations wonder why their employees lack innovation and engagement.

Often times, these organizations meet quarterly financial goals and sadly, burn out their best employees in the long run.
